Citizenship Applications

U-VISA Application
The U-VISA is designed for victims of certain crimes who have suffered serious psychological or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement in investigation and/or prosecution of the criminal act. It provides a bridge to legal status and work authorization, and you may become eligible for lawful residency in the US.
Habeas Corpus and Federal Litigation
Habeas Petition
When you or a loved one is wrongfully detained based on a warrantless arrest or lack of notice or cause, we can file a claim in Federal District Court to advocate for release. Afshan J Khan is a dually licensed Attorney who practices exclusively Immigration Law and Immigration Related Federal Litigation. Ms. Khan has over ten years of experience with both affirmative and defensive asylum claims, VAWA based claims, family-based petitions, adjustment of status and naturalization. She primarily practices before the New York and Chicago Immigration Courts, but also has clients throughout the United States.
She has filed numerous petitions for the release of detained noncitizens, mandamus for prolonged processes as well as Circuit Court appeals from the Board of Immigration Appeals. Ms. Khan is fluent in Spanish and Urdu and has worked with individuals from various countries and backgrounds. Her pronouns are she/her/ella/il. When she is not working, Ms. Khan enjoys hiking trails with her German Shepard.
